First Served - 12th June 2026

More about the beer
SMaSH stands for Single Malt and Single Hop. One grain, one hop, nowhere to hide. Brewers use SMaSH beers to show exactly what a single ingredient tastes like, so it’s a real test of skill. Golden ale itself is a fairly young British style from the 1980s, and one of the first was brewed just up the road on Exmoor. It was created as a pale, refreshing alternative to traditional brown bitter, so it’s cask country in a can.

More about the bird
Every chicken descends from the red junglefowl of Southeast Asia, domesticated thousands of years ago. Scientists rank chickens among the closest living relatives of T. rex, so Nugget has serious ancestry. It takes a hen about 24 to 26 hours to make one egg. There are more chickens on Earth than people, outnumbering us by billions. Nugget, of course, is one of a kind.

But Why Golden Nugget?
Luke's first chicken was called golden nugget (RIP) who live in his garden while he was brewing beer at home back in 2018. The first bird, the first beer on tap at Rockhopper in 2026.
